Details of Innovation | Farmers sow seeds of sorghum to protect cucumber or gourd plant from pest attack. Young cucumber or bottle gourd plants are often attacked by red beetle leading lead to the death of the plants. To avoid this, farmers sow seeds of fodder sorghum along with seeds of cucumber or gourds. The thick growth of sorghum seedlings protects the young cucumber or gourd plants by repelling the beetles. |
