Details of Innovation | Here, the animal does not feed on the hard stalks of sorghum (Sorghum vulgare) and other stalks of crop after consuming the tender and soft leaves of the plant. So, there is wastage of stalks. According to the innovator, to reuse stalks, one kilogram Sodium chloride or NaCl is added to seven liters of water and agitated properly. This solution is sprayed uniformly on the stalks of crop manually or with the spraying pump. This solution increases the palatability of stalks for feeding. The animal consumes these stalks with interest and hence, wastage is reduced. At the time of famine, most people use this practice. |
