Details of Innovation	This pest can attack any standing crop. The pest attacks and feeds on the roots of groundnut crop as a result, the entire plant dries up in two days. This pest is mostly found in the black clay and sandy soil. Before sowing, furrows are made. In these furrows, four tractors of "cheerodi" per 0.24 ha of land are applied. The ploughing operation is not done afterwards because it rubs the furrow. After rains, the seeds of groundnut (Arachis hypogaea) are placed in the furrow in which the "cheerodi" is placed. This "cheerodi" keeps away the pest from the crop and its growth is superior. Ten per cent farmers are using this practice. Not a single plant of groundnut is affected with white grub pest (Holotrichus conguinea) and so, the growth of plant is excellent.
