Practice Name:

Increasing Production of Groundnut Crop

Details
Category Crop Protection and Disease Management
Crop Groundnut
Crop Family Fabaceae
Scientific Name Arachis hypogaea
Vernacular Name peanuts, mufali, china badam
Scout HBN
Ingredients Supernatant of buttermilk, spraying pump
Details of Innovation After sowing, in 20 to 25 days, the flowering of groundnut (Arachis hypogaea) starts and again, in another 10 days, the initiation of pegs takes place. The plant produces flowers above and pods under the soil. At this time, if the supernatant of buttermilk is sprayed on the crop, it will produce more flowers with more number of pods. Hence, production per acre is increased. In one acre of land, 10 litres capacity pump is sufficient for spraying. The effect of this treatment can be seen within a day andlasts for next 10 days. This practice has been in use for about a decade.
