"The vermicompost of Ficus leaves were nutrient-rich, odour-free, more mature and stabilized than the initial waste mixture. The present study showed that good quality vermicomposting could be prepared from dry leaves of trees. When India is facing shortage in supplying chemical fertilizers to all its farmers to increase food production and gradually switching over to evergreen revolution through integrated nutrient management where vermicomposting plays an important role, none can afford to destroy these dry leaves by burning. Vermicomposting is the sustainable, low-cost and easy solution for the beneficial utilization of such huge quantities of dry leaves. [Vasanthi, K. (2015).
