Details of Innovation Leaf curl disease is mainly observed in vegetable crops. It is called "tuntiyo" in Gujarati. After initial growth, leaves of vegetable crops sometimes turn yellowish and fall off. The disease prevents growth of buds/shoots and branches. The leaf curl disease can be controlled with smoke. In one-acre farm, make bonfires at 20 to 25 places with wet/green and dry trash of "gugal" (Commiphora wightii). Bhaichandbhai Rathod suggests that the bonfire must be made against the wind direction. This ensures even spread of the smoke in the entire farm. The bonfires must be made daily twice for three days. Leaf curl or "tuntiyu" is thus controlled. By this process, even aphids and white fly, if any, in the crop area will be controlled.
