Details of Innovation | In this practice, the plant is slit vertically in two pieces. This plant is carefully kept away from the touch of human skin to prevent itching. Usually, it is slit using an old cloth or a pincer. Elephant foot yam (Amorphophallus campanulatus) is studded with black and white spots on it, giving it a snake-like appearance. Fearing presence of snake, rats do not come near paddy crop. This way paddy (Oryza sativa) crop is protected. This is a traditional practice used for 50 years by 70% of villages. This is a ready to use and inexpensive practice. |
