Details of Innovation | The inside of basket meant for storing mahua (Madhuca indica) flowers is covered with two layers of bastard teak (Butea monosperma) leaves. Thereafter, the basket is filled with mahua flowers. Leaves of bastard teak are again spread on top of the flowers. After covering in this way, the basket is packed. Three to four kilogram leaves are required for proper storing of 20 kilogram of flowers. This helps in the proper storage of mahua flowers. This is traditional practice learnt from forefathers. |
