Details of Innovation Cumin (Cuminum cyminum) is an important cash crop for the dry and semi-dry regions of Gujarat. It is a challenging task for the farmers to save cumin (Cuminum cyminum) crop from blight disease. To control blight in cumin, tender leaves of neem (Azadirachta indica ), Indian aloe vera ( Aloe barbadensis) and leaves of crown flower (Calotropis gigantea ) are crushed together to extract the juice. Thenafter, mix five gram detergent powder to 500 ml extract and add it to 15 L of water. Spray this mixture on the cumin (Cuminum cyminum ) crop when it is 30 days old. The remedy is sprayed at the interval of every eight to ten days after the first spray. This is self developed practice successfully used by the innovator for last five years.
