Details of Innovation | Leaves of tobacco (Nicotiana tabaccum) are specially treated by farmers of Jaipur district in Rajasthan. Mature tobacco leaves are given a special treatment for 10 to 15 d to improve their quality. Branches of crown flower (Calotropis gigantean) and tobacco (Nicotiana tabaccum) leaves are layered one on the other on flat place and are not disturbed till peculiar odour is noticed. Thereafter it is sold in market or stored at a safe place. Farmers believe that, this process helps to improve quality of tobacco leaves. |
