| Details of Innovation | Babubhai Popatbhai Pansuria has machine touch, if not the Midas touch. Whatever the indigenous intensive process, he tries to mechanise it, be it laddu-maker or threshing machine. His latest invention is a cotton-ginning machine to clean up the commodity. For Babubhai, the cotton-ginning-thresher machine is a made-to-order one. Once the owners of a ginning factory went and requested him to make a machine which could separate cotton from seed and other waste. Following the request, Babubhai set his mind to it and developed the ginning thresher machine. Since then there have been trade inquiries and only owners of big cotton factories are placing orders and purchasing this machine manufactured at a cost of Rs 35,000 . He has been manufacturing the machine for the past five years. One agent in Ahmedabad places the orders with Babubhai. Ginning-thresher machine is used by those factories where cotton bundles are prepared after removing dry leaves, seed, straw and so on. Cotton with impurities fetches a lesser price. |
