| Details of Innovation | About 250 grams of used-up tea (Camellia sinensis) powder is mixed with one kilogram of millet (Pennisetum typhoides) seeds when sowing to increase millet production by five maunds as compared to untreated millet. The method has been in use for the last 30 years. The mixing of tea dust with pearl millet (Pennisetum typhoides) seeds exerts its effects until the crop is harvested. Its use ensures improved growth in plants. The method was innovated by Valubhai Jebaying's grandfather who resided in Bhavnagar. Many neighboring farmers have adopted this method. |
