| Details of Innovation | Asafoetida(Ferula foetida) is used to get better yield in the cultivation of brinjal. Asafoetida improves yield of Brinjal (salanum melongena) and brightens its color. 50 Gms of asafoetida (Whole ) is tied in cloth and placed in the field in canals where water is to be applied. It will dissolve in the water abd be applied to the whole plantation. The effect will be observed from the next day. There is no side-effect to the crop. Asafoetida can be placed 2-3 times during the total period of cultivation. This method has been adopted by a few farmer. The innovator has not utilized/tried this practice in any other crop. The effect is observed twice when the entire crop is harvested. |
