Details of Innovation | Standing crops of "chikoo" (Achras zapota), mango (Mangifera indica) and other crops are damaged by animals like cows, sheep, goats, zebra, etc. Small plants don't develop, and bigger ones are damaged, which adversely affects their fruit yield. To reduce the damage, the dung solution is sprinkled. Semi-solid cow dung is put into a bucket of water, well-stirred, and a dung solution is made. This solution is sprinkled on the plants by hand or using a broom. The plants retain the odor and so the animals do not eat and damage the crop. Many farmers have been using this practice for years. |
