Details of Innovation	This method is used to control insects and prevent fall of flowers in cotton (Gossypium hirsutum), brinjal (Solanum melongena), chilies (Capsicum annuum) crops. About 500g leaves of each of “black dhhaturo” (Datura innoxia), “shingado vashhnag” (Aconitum Ferox), “Shitaphalle” (Annona squamosa), neem (Azadirachta indica), mamejava (Enicostemma littorale), and “kidamaree” (Aristolochia bracteata) are pounded together. After that water and buttermilk are added. This mixture is then stored in a vessel with the top covered with a cloth for three days. The cloth is then removed, and the concoction is stirred thoroughly. The color of the concoction becomes green when ready. About 100-125g of the concoction is filled in a 15-liter capacity water pump and sprayed on the crop. Remains of the remedy can be stored in a bottle for a long period. This remedy has been in use for the last five to ten years. The innovator knows that the plants he uses are poisonous. However, the method does no harm, but it requires time and labor. The farmer is thinking of preparing other remedies also.
