Details of Innovation When Aphid infests the groundnut (Arachis hypogaea) crop, the plants die due to wilting. For controlling this pest, ash of burned fuelwood is dispersed for 2 to 3 days on the crop. The effect can be seen from the fourth day itself with no side-effects. It is not a very well-known method, but those who are aware of it, use it. The method has been in use for the last three years. The innovator developed this idea based on his intuition. It is not expensive and is effective against insect pests.
