Details of Innovation	Farmer Zaverbhai Pithabhai from Bhavnagar district of Gujarat has developed a unique medicinal preparation that helps him control not only insect pests but also stop flower-shedding in his cotton (Gossypium herbaceum), brinjal (Solanum melongena), and chili (Capsicum annuum) crops. He collects the whole plants and leaves of thorn apple (Datura innoxia), monkshood (Aconitum Ferox), custard apple (Annona squamosa), neem (Azadirachta indica), "mamejvo" (Enicostemma hyssopifolium), worm killer (Aristolochia bracteata), and pounds them. He then adds some water and buttermilk to the powdered ingredients and keeps the concoction soaked for three days.
