In 1999, GG-2 variety of groundnut was grown in the monsoon season from which one plant having good growth was selected. This plant was observed till the harvesting, from which more seeds with good quality are produced compared to other plants. The leaves of this plant are broader. Several pods are larger and resistant to disease and pests. The seeds obtained from this plant were sown in 1991. As a result, one plant, gave 150 g of seeds. These seeds are sown in the summer season, and finally, 5 to 6 kg seeds are obtained.
Again, these seeds were sown in the monsoon of 1992, from which 180 kg seeds were obtained. The farmer sold all these groundnut seeds and kept only 10 kg for himself.
