pulp of ripe desert date fruits (Balanites roxburghii), water, pump |
Details of Innovation |
According to the innovator, ripe fruits of desert date (Balanites roxburghii) are collected and the pulp is excoriated. About 200 gram pulp is pounded and mixed with 10 litres of water to get the desired concentration. Here, the quantity of bark is increased or decreased according to the area of spraying. This solution is filled in the spraying pump and sprayed on the affected field of brinjal (Solanum melongena) and chilli (Capsicum annuum) crops. In three days, there is induction of flowering and thereafter setting of fruits takes place in the crop.
The tree of desert date grows up to 15 to 20 feet with small round leaves and possesses little spines. It produces fruits in the monsoon season, which weigh 200 gram. The bark of this tree is extensively used for the preparation of medicine. |
