Details of Innovation Farmer uses the leaves of naffatvel or shrubby morning glory (Ipomoea fistulosa) and arani (Clerodendrum phlomidis) to control the attack of aphids on pests. Farmer boils 500 grams of the leaves of the creeper shrubby morning glory and 500 grams of arani (Clerodendrum phlomidis)leaves in five litres of water for four hours. The solution is kept aside for five days. Later, he takes about 500 millilitres of this decoction and fills it into a pump and mixes with water. This solution is sprayed on the crops for controlling aphids. The pests are killed within three days of spraying the solution.
