Details of Innovation	Farmer fights pests and viral diseases by using false black pepper (embelia ribes). False black pepper is also used traditionally to help maintain a healthy skin and to aid digestion. Farmer boils 200 grams of false black pepper in two liters of water and leaves it aside for a day. He filters the decoction the next day and then dilutes it with 100 liters of water. The diluted solution as a spray is a potent defence against insects and viral diseases. Clinical studies have shown that false black pepper also acts as a mild laxative and its extracts are found to be effective against ascribes.
