Farmers cut away the trees and pull out the roots after 4-6 years. After clearing the field it is ploughed very deeply with the help of bullocks. Sometimes farmers incorporate gypsum or chirodi in the field before cultivating any crop on it; some other farmers grow gram (Cicer arietinum) and okra (Abelmoschus esculautus) in the salt-affected soil of Sabarkantha District. |
