Details of Innovation	Lemon (Citrus limon) orchards are mostly found in North Gujarat. Normally, farmers of this area harvest lemon with wooden stick or iron roll. Fruits thus fallan on the ground, are then collected and sold. However, harvesting by this method damages branches, scratches ripen lemon and also brings down raw and small lemons.This practice damages the fruits as it is striked by stick or iron pipe, leading to economic loss to the farmers. To avoid this loss, a simple device with PVC pipe fitted with a penknife/ pincer at the top is device. The knife joined with break wire cuts lemon from the branch and comes down through PVC pipe in the collecting bag. The main benefit of this device is that, the branches are not damaged, raw and small lemons are not cut. Besides, it saves labour and expenses.
