Details of Innovation	Clay and saline soils have the problem of seed germination especially that of cotton seeds. Due to excess sticky nature of the soil the plumule of the germinated seed can not come out. The soil is too compact to provide space and aeration for the germination of seeds. In such cases quick growing seed can be grown with the seed of the main crop, which loosen the soil by its faster germination and provides space and aeration for the seed of main crop. One of such fast growing seed is caster. This can be exploited for the germination of cotton seed in saline and clayey soils. The seeds of caster are sown with the seeds of cotton, in such situation, the caster seeds grows faster and come out of the soil. This breaks the upper hard stratum of the soil, providing the cotton seed space for germination and growth. And once cotton seed is germinated in the saline and clayey soil we can have good harvest of the crop. After sufficient growth of cotton the caster plants are rooted out. This is self-developed practice and is utilized by about 1015% of the farmers.
