Details of Innovation	Viththalbhai Sarvaiya is a 60 year old farmer staying in Dhajala village of Sayala taluka in the Surendranagar district of Gujarat. He suggests the use of pearl millet flour for protection of cumin or Cuminum cyminum from dieses of black chamri. Blackchamri often attack cumin or Cuminum cyminum crop and eats away the pods. Viththalbhai Sarvaiya sprinkles stale flour of pearl millet on cumin or Cuminum cyminum crop. This treatment works within four to five days and 60 to 70 percent crop is protected from the disease. There is no side-effect of this remedy. He has used this method for eight years now. He learnt this traditional seed treatment from Mansukhbai Bhagat of Goraiya village.
