Details of Innovation	Excessive rain makes the soil soft, which makes the harrow penetrates more deep into the ground at the time of sowing. The seeds sown deeper are not able to sprout and come out. This is less of a problem in the case of bigger seeds. However, in the case of smaller seeds like pearl millet (Pennisetum typhoides), sorghum (Sorghum vulgare), and sesame (Sesamum indicum), if the seeds are sown deeper, they are not able to sprout, resulting in loss. To prevent this loss, a bearing is placed at the cleft of the harrow, which remains above the ground. By this, the harrow does not penetrate deep into the ground helping the sowing of the seeds at a higher level and they sprouts well. The method has been in use for last 8 years.
