Details of Innovation	Kaliben of Bharuch district of Gujarat has found an alternative method of sowing the garlic (Allium sativum) crop, which increases the production. Kaliben informs about three years back, when she accidentally sowed some of the garlic cloves in upside-down method. These faulty sown cloves of garlic germinated in a week and later at the time of harvesting she found that these cloves gave much higher yield as compared to the normal pattern of sowing. When she sows garlic cloves in the normal pattern she needs three kilogram per five guntha, while in upside-down method, she needs only two kilogram of cloves. The innovator uses this practice in her farm. There is no side effect of the treatment. Moreover, the size of bulb also increases. Conversion formula One acre = 40 gunthas One guntha = 11X11 yard= 121 sq.yards Five gunthas = 121X5 = 605 sq yards One sq yard = 0.836 m2 605 sq yards = 605 X0.836 = 505.78 m2 = 506 m2
