Details of Innovation Cotton is a cash crop, which is mainly attacked by ball worms and sucking insect pests like aphid, jassid and white fly. To control these insect pests, five kilogram leaves of swamp cabbage plant (Ipomoea aquatica) are boiled in five litre of water for 15 to 20 min. The decoction is then filtered and used as stock solution. One liter of this stock solution is mixed with 15 L of water and sprayed on the insect pest infested cotton crop. Two sprays at the interval of eight days give good control of these pests. This is traditional method , and has no side effects.
