| Details of Innovation | Usually birds attack the grape vineyards causing considerable damage to the crops which in turn causes considerable loss to the cultivators. Mr. Janakiraman of Dindugal, Tamil Nadu, has devised a novel and natural method to eradicate this problem by growing honeybees in his vineyard. In an acre of land, honeybees can be grown in around 12 places. The honeybees swarm about, serving to deter the birds and consequently protect crops. Additionally, the honeybees would help the farmers obtain honey: another stream of income for the farmer. |
