Works on a reciprocating pump. |
| Details of Innovation |
This innovation is an alternative to the submersible pump. It saves energy and cost. More water can be drawn by this pump. In places where there is no electricity, a light oil engine can be used to draw the water. This mechanism can also be used in oil wells eg. corporations like the ONGC may find it useful.
The following points set off the newly-innovated reciprocating pump against the submersble pump:
SUBMERSIBLE PUMP
-Needs electricity.
-Needs more maintenance care.
-An electric wire goes down the shaft along with pump.
-The deeper the water the higher is the horsepower required to draw water.
-Submersible pump rusts because of sand.
RECIPROCATING PUMP
-Can work on with oil engine.
-Less wear and tear.
-A piston along with rods goes down in the bore.
-In a double-acting pump, the depth of the well does not increase load on the motor proportionately.
-Rubber washers are used and this reduces rusting. |
