| Details of Innovation | Snail damage is more in Andaman at cotyledonary stage of the vegetables like cauliflower, brinjal etc. Application of ash restricts the entrance of the snails. By coming in contact with ash, the snail will not move forward and is repelled. Body of the snail exudates oily substance and this facilitates its trapping when it comes in contact with ash. Salt will injure the body due its salinity. So, some farmers control snails, by mixing salt with ash and apply around the germinated seedlings. |
