Details of Innovation Preparation of Natural Herbal Mixture Neem kernels 1 kg are powdered well and soaked in 5 liters of water for 12 hours and then filtered. This filtrate is added with 400 gms of dehydrated limestone powder and kept as such for 12 hours. Then, this solution can be filtered through a fine cotton cloth. This mixture should be sprayed at the rate of 1250 ml / 45 liters of water with a power sprayer for 1 acre. Spraying of this mixture is advisable to be done in the morning or the evening. Floral Mixture to Enhance flowering and Fruiting About 20 flowers of each of the following plants are taken: Sembaruthi (Hibiscus rosasinensis), malai arali (Plumeria Rubra), erukku (Calotropis gigantea), Thanga arali (Neerium oleander), crotons, jasmine, and nanadhiyavattam (Ervatamia divaricata) are ground into a fine paste, and this is mixed well with 1 liter of water. Then, the mixture is filtered through a fine cotton cloth. The filtrate 20 ml is added with 1 liter of water and sprayed at the flowering stage. This spray will help to enhance flowering and thereby increase the field. The efficiency and effectiveness of this mixture are found effective in fruit trees like mango and sapota. It has also been proved in 25 cent tomato crop with a good yield of 1750 kg. Herbal Pesticide The fresh leaves of sembaruthi (Hibiscus rosa sinensis), Aavarai (Cassia auriculata), Sitapal (Annona squamosa), neem, pungam (Pongamia pinnata), and black croton plants are taken in 20 numbers each. All the leaves have to be ground as a paste and mixed with 2 liters of water, filtered, and kept aside. Neem kernel 1 kg can be crushed well and soaked in 5 liters of water for 12 hours. Then the solution is filtered through a fine cotton cloth. This filtrate is to be mixed with previously prepared leaf extract. This mixture of 300 ml can be taken in a sprayer (of 10 liters capacity) & filled with water for the remaining quantity and sprayed on the crop plants. This spray will be found effective in controlling the insect pests by drying and shedding them.
