Details of Innovation The variety Sitara Sringar was developed through natural hybridization followed by a selection method. Innovator collected seeds from Sengri (Raphanus sativus) and local variety of mustard (Brassica juncea).• High oil content (42 %) • Tolerance to pods shattering and water logging • The variety offers high yield (30 - 35q/ha), has high oil content (42%), and is tolerant to pods shattering. Variety takes about 120-130 days to mature. • Performs well in saline water • Tolerant to Alternaria leaf blight
