| Procedure of Use |
A goat may have tumor in the neck. It goes on increasing in size day by day, becomes septic, leading to pus formation. In a later stage the tumor looks like a round ball. To treat such tumor, 25 gram latex of prickly pear (Opuntia dillenil) plant is applied on the tumor, which makes the tumor to mature and finally all the pus comes out. The tumor then gets dry and heals up within 8 to 10 days. |
| Etiology Causative Agent |
Strain ENTV-1 is found in sheep and strain ENTV-2 is found in goats. The virus causes tumor growth in the upper nasal cavity and is closely related to JSRV which also causes respiratory tumors in ovine. |
