Precautions
Procedure of Use Rajasekhara Honniganahalli from Karnataka uses the smoke of a specially made fire to cure lice infestation in chicks. Small chicks are easily infested with lice. When the lice infestation becomes severe there is every possibility of the death of the chicks. To control this Honniganahalli makes a fire near the chicken coop and puts the leaves of East Indian satinwood (Chloroxylon swietenia)</b> into the fire to raise smoke. The smoke thickens, and wafts on to the chicks housed in the chicken coop. The smoke causes the death of the lice. He repeats this practice for three to four days to effectively control lice in chicks.
