Disease Description A state of being unable to walk because of leg or foot pain is lameness. ... The word lameness is most often used to describe animals that are injured or ill and unable to walk without limping. For some animals, like horses, lameness is a sign of extreme pain and is considered a very serious symptom.
Disease Control
Disease Prevention Protect the corium because corium produces all of the structures of the hoof
Precautions Maintain hoof quality
Procedure of Use According to Becharbhai Bhagwanbhai to cure lamness, latex of cluster fig (Ficus glomerata) and soil collected from place where goats are tied are taken and mixed in equal proportion. This prepared mixture is applied on the crippled part of affected bullock and then tied with the bandage. Tying the bandage twice in this fashion, brings relief to the bullock.
Etiology Causative Agent Infectious lameness occurs due to bacterial infection and non-infectious lameness occurs due to poor quality hoof (sole, wall, whiteline) that leading to mechanical breakdown
Global Context Lameness mostly occures in animals having hoof with thin sole
