PAS_1 "Farmer Baria Haribhai Rumalbhai of district Panchamahal treat diarrhoea in animal. He using `dedhumari' (Ficus hispida). Roots of `dedhumari' (Ficus hispida) are crushed after washing, soaked in water for an hour and filtered through cloth. Between 100 and 200 g of the filtrate is administered to the animal. This treatment begins to take effect in a day and a coplete cure is effected in about 2-3 days (Honey Bee,4(2&3):22,1993)".

For curing the diarrhoea, 250 g young shoots, 250 g leaves and 500 g bark of mango (Mangifera indica) are pounded together and then boiled in 2 L water till 1 L water is left. Procedure of Use Women farmer panbaiben treat diarrhoea in cattle by using plum seeds and mango kernels. Take 100 grams of black plum seeds. Mix with 100 grams of mango kernels. Grind the mixture into a fine powder. Add the powder to the usual cattle feed and feed to the animal once a day for three days. This relieves the animal from diarrhoea.
Etiology Causative Agent Where diarrhoea is the most obvious sign, the primary causes can be thought of broadly in two different groups, nutritional and infectious. 1) Nutritional causes include: acidosis (e.g. grain overload), lush green feed, cobalt or selenium deficiency, copper deficiency or toxicity. 2) Infectious causes include: worms viruses (e.g. bovine viral diarrhoea virus), bacteria (e.g. Salmonella or Yersinia). It is important to remember that some infectious causes of diarrhoea, such as Salmonella and Yersinia, can potentially affect humans. Always practise high levels of hygiene when dealing with sick cattle.
