| Procedure of Use |
Nandasaniya boils two kilogrammes of the bark or leaves of giant milkweed and makes a paste.The paste is cooled and then smeared on the swollen region. The remedy is very effective as one application of the paste decreases the swelling which goes away within two to three days. |
| Etiology Causative Agent |
It can be caused by an increase in local hydrostatic pressure such as from abscessed submandibular lymph nodes blocking lymph drainage or grass seeds blocking salivary ducts. Most commonly it is caused by reduced oncotic pressure as a result of systemic anaemia and hypoproteinaemia. |
