The troublesome weed, D. stramonium is a plant with both poisonous and medicinal properties and has been proven to have great pharmacological potential with a great utility and usage in folklore medicine. According to farmer, animal stop feeding, rumination and looks lethargic, when suffered by hypothermia. This disease is generally more seen in cows and buffalos. For that, balls of datura (Datura stramonium) are crushed and applied on animal body for 2 days, through which animal gets relief from hypothermia without any side effect. About 25% of villagers use this practice. |
