Use of "Mamejvo" (Enicostemma hyssopifolium) for control of tapeworm infestation in animal. When there is tapeworm infestation in calf, it suffers from mild fever and is not able to suck properly. It also rejects the feeds. Heavy worm infestation may results in death of calf, if not treated in time. The affected calf is treated by "amejvo" (Enicostemma hyssopifolium) leaves. About 500 g leaves of this plant are finely crushed and soaked in 500 g of water and filtered after some time. The filtrate in dosage of 100 g is administered to the animal with the help of drench-pipe once daily for 5 days. This makes the calf free of worm infestation within 3 days as worms start to purge out with faeces. This is a self-developed method. Many people of the village use this traditional method. |
