Animal affected by heat-stroke suffers from high fever and remain sick and dull for 3 - 4 days. It ignores the feeds. Milk yield of the animal decreases. To recover the animal from this problem, Punabhai Rajabhai from Bhavnagar district of Gujarat gives first aid to the animal by confining it to shed and bathing it with cold water. Thereafter, he feeds the animal a mixture of 500 g jaggery, 100 g carom (Carum copticum) seeds and some quantity of ash obtained by burning the bran of paddy (Oryza sativa) for once. This cures the animal from heat -stroke. |
