For easy expulsion of placenta after delivery approximately 2kg pearl millet (Pennisetum americanum) grain, 100g of methi(Trigonella foenum-graecum) seeds, 50 g of asalio (Lepidiumsativum), 25 g of suva (Anethum graveolens) and 500 g of jiggery are boiled in water for one hour. The cooked feed (aftercooling) is fed to cow or buffalo after delivery. The placentaexpels out within 2-3 hrs after this treatment (Vaghasiya, 2001).The root of jepti (500 g) is used to remove the placenta frombuffaloes after delivery. "To get rid of this problem, put 200 g dill seed (Anethum graveolens) and 500 g jaggery in water and heat it. Heat the mixture till it takes 2-3 effervescence and then remove it from fire. Allow it to cool and then feed the medicine to the animal through a drench. Within 2-3 hours, placenta and complete uterine mass will be released.This is a low cost medicine and has quick effect." |
