"When an animal suffers from foot and mouth disease, ulcers develop in the hooves making the animal lame and uncomfortable. The animal frequently holds the infected leg above the ground. In such a situation, an entire yellow berried night shade (Solanum xanthocarpum) plant is crushed with water till a paste is prepared. This ointment is applied on the ulcers and in five to six days hooves are healed. This technique was handed down over generations." |
