PAS_1 Repeat breeders should be carefully evaluated in order to define the most probable reason for the failure to conceive (early repeats) or failure in pregnancy maintenance (early and late repeats). Initially heat records should be evaluated to classify the cow as early or late repeat. Cows that have had three services and are not pregnant should be checked before serving again by a veterinarian. (https://www.thecattlesite.com/diseaseinfo/231/repeat-breeding-syndrome/)
PAS_2 Different treatment strategies as studied in this review article could be adopted as guideline to improve conception rate in repeat breeding cattle and buffaloes in Nepal. However, the first step of treatment involves good care, nutrition, better oestrus detection, timely insemination and management of mating with bulls. Precautions
Procedure of Use "This disease arises due to the excessive accumulation of fatty substances or indigestion of food in the animal body. The excess heat in animal body results in repeat breeding condition of animal. To treat this state, 250 g oil of castor (Ricinus communis) is drenched to the affected animal once in a week for two months. Thus, the treatment reduces heat in the animal and it is cured of the problem. Most of people are using this practice in the village."
Etiology Causative Agent
Global Context Heat stress during the summer disrupts several reproductive processes, resulting in a pronounced depression of conception rate in dairy cows worldwide. (https://academic.oup.com/af/article/9/1/32/5167932)
