Procedure of Use "Sometimes fully-grown cows and buffalos fail to come in to heat due to diseases in the reproductive system or deficit of iron. In such a case, Gangaben from Mehsana district uses the pod residuals of cluster-bean (Cyamopsis tetragonoloba) and the excrement of pigeons for treating the anoestrus condition. According to Gangaben, in order to treat anoestrus, about half-a-bucket of the pod residuals of cluster- bean (Cyamopsis tetragonoloba) (the part left after collecting the seeds from the pod) and two handfuls of excrement of pigeons are mixed and fed to the animal once a day for three to four days. This gives the desired result. The animal turns oestrus. It is a traditional practice."
