Disease Distribution Walking Dandruff (cheyletiellosis) in rabbits is caused by a common rabbit fur mite (Cheyletiella parasitovorax). The mite’s effects are called "walking dandruff" because these large, whitish mites crawl across the skin and fur, and cause excessive flaky skin on a rabbit. Procedure of Use Animals suffering from dandruff lose hair and the dieses spread over the rest of the body. The animal rubs itself against walls or hedges. Worms infest the bleeding skin that may lead to death of the animal. Ramabhai Jaw applies oil of kanji or Pongamia pinnata twice a day to cure the animal. He has used leaf extract of arni or Clerondendrum multiflorum about eight years ago. That is also an effective remedy. According to Dr P R Patel the oil of kanji or Pongamia pinnata has germicidal qualities but there is no scientific evidence about leaves of arni or Clerondendrum multiflorum. Dr Anjaria agrees with the above mentioned and has been aware of it for a decade. Sakhabhai Vajabhai has been using this remedy but he is no more
