Symptoms of disease: The animal becomes pale/listless.The stomach swells. The animal rolls back and forth. Ears seem to hang. Recognizing useful thing or plant: In this method, the animal bloats more in monsoon season. At this time the kaachra seeds grow in the grazing land or other fields. The kothambda [Cucumis callosus] seeds grow into a creeper and their leaves are in the shape of gord leaves. It fruits are long, flat, oblong and if eaten raw they taste bitter. Firstly, after the cucumis callosus has become ripe, it is cut into pieces and dried. Then it is crushed into small pieces and mixed with curd and ghee. This mixture is given to the suffering animal. This is a traditional method. Since the last 30 years about 90% of the villagers are using this method. |
