Disease Symptoms / Clinical Signs
Disease Description Immediately after cattle consume a meal, the digestive process creates gases in the rumen. Most of the gases are eliminated by eructation (belching). Any interruption of this normal gas elimination results in gas accumulation or bloat. (https://beef.unl.edu/cattleproduction/bloat-beefcattle)

Precautions
Procedure of Use The abdomen of the affected animal swells and sounds like drum when tapped. The animal shows signs of discomfort. If proper treatment is not given, the animal may even die. For the treatment, 400 g fresh oil of groundnut (Arachis hypogaea), 25 g dried ginger powder (Zingiber officinalis) and 200 ml of water are mixed properly in a container. This concoction is drenched to the affected animal with the help of drenching pipe. This treatment provides relief to the animal in an hour. This method has been in use from last 8 years. It is a traditional practice learnt from forefathers.
