Disease Symptoms / Clinical Signs
Disease Description Anoestrus: The cow is not observed in oestrus either because she has not come into oestrus (not cycling) or because oestrus was not detected (cycling). True anoestrus: The cow does not come into oestrus because she has inactive ovaries. Suboestrus: The cow has normal cyclic activity, but is not observed in oestrus due to weak or absent oestrous behaviour, or insufficient observation. Precautions
Procedure of Use A cow or buffalo or any quadruped does not come in to heat due to lack of proper feed or treatment. When the animal does not become oestrus, Kaiyabhai administers the spikes of thorn apple (Datura metel) to it. This makes the animal oestrus. This is a traditional practice used by many villagers in the Amreli area.
