Procedure of Use |
"In case of worm infestation, the cattle animals, particularly the calf, show signs of fever. The calf shows no interest in feeding. In severe cases of worm infestation, the calf may even die, if it is not cured fast. Dudhiben Gohil is particularly concerned about the small calf which mainly suffers from worm infestation. To treat it, she takes ""mamejvo"" (Enicostemma littorale) plant. ""Mamejvo"" (Gujarati name, Phirayat in Hindi) plant, which is generally found on the boundaries of fields, is crushed and an extract obtained. Water is added to the mix as per requirements and about 125 millilitres (half-a-drench pipe) is drenched in the morning and evening for three days. This treatment rids the calf of worms. This is a traditional practice." |
